Para comemorar o Dia da Árvore (21 de setembro), a Prefeitura de Sorocaba, por meio da Secretaria de Meio Ambiente, Proteção e Bem-Estar Animal (Sema), e o Clube de Observadores de Aves (Coaves) realizarão, no dia 25 de setembro, às 10h, um encontro virtual especial do Coaves Kids, voltado a crianças com idade a partir de seis anos e seus familiares. O tema desta edição será “A interação das aves com as árvores”.
A atividade de Educação Ambiental tem como intuito despertar o interesse dos participantes sobre as aves, em uma manhã divertida e de aprendizado sobre a importância da conservação do meio ambiente. O encontro virtual é realizado, de forma mensal, pela plataforma Google Meet.
Durante a ação educativa, as equipes da Sema e do Coaves vão mostrar aos participantes a conexão existente entre as aves e as árvores. As árvores oferecem moradia e alimentos aos pássaros. Já, as aves frugívoras (que se alimentam de frutos) desempenham um importante papel na manutenção das áreas verdes, pois são responsáveis pela dispersão da maioria das plantas de uma floresta, seja derrubando as sementes dos bicos ou ainda por meio da disseminação das sementes pelas fezes. Elas são conhecidas como as “jardineiras” da cidade.
Além disso, servidores da Secretaria de Meio Ambiente, Proteção e Bem-Estar Animal estarão no Jardim Botânico “Irmãos Villas-Bôas”, onde vão apresentar as curiosidades e a importância desse espaço para a conservação da biodiversidade. Lá, os visitantes podem observar uma grande variedade de espécies arbóreas e de aves, inclusive àquelas que se alimentam de frutos, como o sabiá, saíra-amarela, sanhaço-cinzento, tuim, bem-te-vi, periquitão, cambacica e asa-branca.
Os pais podem inscrever seus filhos até o dia 24 de setembro, pelo e-mail: [email protected], informando nome, endereço completo e um número de telefone com WhatsApp, para receber o link de acesso na plataforma.
